Professor Robert Eyler, director of the Center for Regional Economic Analysis at SSU, gave me the low down on his methods for calculating just how much the Sonoma County economy shrank in 2008.

Only a few days after I published an article and a video in August showcasing how Google had driven onto more than 100 private roads and driveways — despite several “No Trespassing” signs — I spotted a camera-equipped Google car outside the Press Democrat newsroom in Santa Rosa.

Actor Sean Penn is getting lots of praise for his portrayal of Harvey Milk, who was shot and killed by a fellow S.F. supervisor. The 1984 documentary about Harvey Milk is a must watch for anyone who liked the movie, or follows politics. And now Hulu.com has made it available online to watch free with limited commercials. The documentary won an Oscar in 1985.
